Sony’s VAIO VGC-LS1 All-in-One Desktop PC has the looks and goods to make a decent iMac alternative. The VGC-LS1 has a PC hiding inside its 19" XBRITE flat panel widescreen display which sits inside a clear polycarbonate base. The PC also has a built-in web cam and mic and a TV tuner with DVR capabilities. At the heart of the VGC-LS1 is a Core Duo 1.83GHZ processor running with Windows Media Center, a generous 2GB of ram, and a 250GB hard drive. The VGC-LS1’s package also includes a wireless mouse and keyboard, and you get all of this for $2,099. Unfortunately, the VGC-LS1 is lacking in an important area - it doesn’t have a dedicated video card, which is a shame because it almost had us at hello.
